Falling Into: A Book Collaboration
Falling Into grew out of my desire to allow the personal experiences and working methods of myself, poet Ray Gonzales and printer Rod Mills to interact and, in aggregate, to create a visual and literary narrative in the form of a book; a narrative in which neither literary, visual or design elements dominate, but combine equally to form a whole. This dynamic process of sharing sketchbooks, notes, prints and poems, and then reacting to those exchanges (as well as ongoing discussions and decisions at the press) determined the final form and content of Falling Into.
The edition was limited to 30 copies numbered 1 - 30, and 3 artist’s proofs.

A Visiting Artist & Researcher in Spain
I visited the Museu Moli Paperer de Capellades in 2002. Located in an 18th century paper mill that has been conserved, the museum is committed to promoting the development and production of creative artistic projects, and continues to make high-quality, handmade paper.
Following my visit in Capellades, I conducted lithography workshops at Escola d' Arts Aplicades I d' Oficis Artistics, Llotja, Barcelona, and then visited the University of Seville in Seville, SPAIN.

Egypt's 2nd International Conference of Plastic Arts
Assiut University hosted the 2nd International Conference of Plastic Arts (Fine Arts) in November 2010. The 3-day conference gathered artists and researchers from throughout the world to present panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, and documentaries—all with the aim of affirming the role art plays in nurturing the cultural and intellectual development of Upper Egypt.
I was invited to participate in the conference as a juror, and to give a talk at Assiut University. Following the conference, I traveled along the Nile to Minia and Luxor.

Residency at Mino Washi Museum
Washi, literally translated into English as "Japanese paper," denotes paper that is made by hand using traditional Japanese methods that date to the 7th century. I studied Washi at the Mino Washi Akari Art Museum (美濃和紙あかりアート館) in Mino City while visiting Japan as a guest of noted paper artist Kyoko Ibe.
